Pfc. Dustin A. Yancey

Army Pfc. Dustin A. Yancey, 22, of Goose Creek, SC, died on November 4, 2005.

Yancey died in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near the Humvee he was driving during convoy operations. He was assigned to the 26th Forward Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA. He was a member of Top Flight, a special platoon that provided security to military convoys.

He graduated from Goose Creek High School in 2001, where he was a member of the chorus and JROTC.  He was nicknamed "The Most Advanced" by his buddies and commanding officers because of his driving/navigational skills as well as his abilities to tear apart and rebuild computers, play the guitar and his talent with magic tricks.
